Custom Wind Chimes

Hand made wind chimes by River Mist Wind Works. Custom made, each one is unique, tuned to your song of choice, with custom laser engraving of windsail.
- Pipes are hung with a minimum 440 lb strength paracord and supported by a brass plated quarter inch thick steel hanger ring to ensure strength and durability in all weather conditions.
- Pipes are center-hung on spring steel, galvanized inside and out, and polyester powder-coated gloss black. 1 3/8" or 1 5/8" diameter.
- Wood support, knocker, and wind sail are hand made and custom laser etched and polyurethaned or varnished for weather protection.
- Tuning can be in Western 12-Tone Equal Temperament, Renold I (Twelve True-Fifths Tuning), or 19-Tone Equal Temperament.
- The length of the pipes set its voice. The shorter the pipes, the higher the voice. I generally produce Suprano, Mezzo-suprano, Alto, and occasionally Tenor sets.
- Chime sets may take two to three weeks to complete as I work out design details and to allow weather protection coatings to cure.

Ignore the "Sold Out" flag, that's just because I have zero quantity set on this page, since it's for custom orders only.

Disclaimer: Of course I don't use the entire song... impossible with only 4 to 6 pipes. I usually use the most popular or catchy part, or the background theme. Enough to recognize the song if you actually struck the pipes in the correct order. Obviously, the wind won't do that, though I try to arrange the pipes so that rebound strikes tend to be the following note and sometimes you do hear it in the wind. When choosing what part of the song to use, I want it to be recognizable, but also ensure that the notes as played randomly by wind also sound complimentary to each other. While I have been making these wind chimes for about thirteen years, there are still things I learn about them every time I make one.
Shipping varies wildly with this product, because each is different they have different shipping weights and lengths. Smaller ones are generally in around $30 to $45, the larger one's have cost as much as $80. USPS, FedEx and UPS shipping available. Direct pick-up or delivery is also available to my local area within about 50 miles of Doniphan, MO.
